  • Earle Brown Heritage Center 6155 Earle Brown Drive Brooklyn Center, MN 55430 (map)

Learning Objectives

-Identify and define ambiguous loss as it relates to homelessness

-Identify clinical implications of integrating grief

-Identify tools to assist clients in integrated grief, including ambiguous loss

Presentation will provide education around brain impact during chronic stress, such as homelessness, and discuss why behaviors are adaptive, though challenging.  “Ambiguous Loss” and “Grief Work” will be defined with real examples provided.  Tools will be provided for creating a space that incorporates integration of grief for individuals experiencing homelessness, and discussion around clinical implications if grief is not integrated.  Engage in a conversation around what the experience of homelessness is like through personal narratives.
