Psychotherapy

I am here to hold space for you to process your life; the good, the bad, the funny. I practice radical acceptance with each person who walks into my life, which means I will not judge you for how you have made sense of your world and for the ways you have developed to cope.

I have a strong interest in grief and loss, and how your spirituality might be tested, strengthened, or questioned through those losses. I understand that loss can be ambiguous; it is not always about mourning a death but sometimes mourning a lost opportunity, a lost meaning, or a lost connection. I am certified in Spiritual Direction, as well as pursuing a certification in Thanatology, which is the study of death and dying. I feel that these certifications help me understand that there are profound complexities in life. I also am a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist. Let us just say that I am very comfortable talking with you about death and loss, and I have yet to have found something someone has said to me as being “too out there”.

My approach to therapy is holistic. I have witnessed incredibly profound human experiences that people have had, and firmly believe that people are born inherently good and that they develop a lens for their world through attachments, trauma, loss, and/or stress. My model to working with folx is about not pathologizing how they have made sense of life as being “wrong” or “a problem”.

I am trained in EMDR therapy. My approach is very person-centered, meaning that you are the expert of your life and you will guide us in the work we do together. And with that information we can learn how to cultivate compassion for ourselves while also creating lasting change. I have a social justice and intersectional feminist lens. I love normalizing defense mechanisms and inner critiques. I often will use Bibliotherapy in my practice as well.

I have many years working with individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as actively engaging in sex work. All are welcome through my doors.

Currently all therapy is offered via Telehealth or in Rockford, MN. I provide Ketamine Assisted Therapy at the Institute for Integrated Therapies, which is located in Eden Prairie, MN.
